Now for today's topic-Avoiding the Holiday 15. Yes, that's right. Some of us can put on as much as 15lbs during the holiday season with all the various parties you or our friends throw, the office party, and the holidays themselves. They all present a constant dialogue of, "Oh, that looks great. I think I'll have some of this/that." "No, I really shouldn't, but...ok just a small piece."
All of that can add up quickly. How does one keep the calorie count down and not feel like a Scrooge?
Formulate a game plan going in. If having 8 pieces of toffee bites is your weakness, have one piece and substitute some carrots/dip for the rest. Give into the monster but also feed your more sensible self along the way. Get it?
It is really counterproductive to totally deny yourself any indulgences. If you do go a bit overboard, please don't beat yourself up over it. That is not doing any good either. Just resolve to try better next time.
My best to you this holiday season as you navigate the trays of goodies and the meals. May you resolve to make at least one simple change. When you do, we'll be here to help you.
